From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, demons, and dark forces growing in influence within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might look mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his own means, breaking into the secret base, attacking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then settled his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could enable the group reach areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Explorers and Planners tables.
Viewers can expect finding out which players will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on next week.
