Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
